Travel Trays and which one to get – A quick review

So my earlier post on travel really connected with a lot of parents. And when I say connected, I mean  everyone felt and understood the pain… *cough cough* I mean love. I’m going to do a quick review of the travel tray that I’ve used whilst traveling with kids and a few alternatives that were on my top 3 list. Trust me you will need this for your own peace of mind.

Kids Car Seat Travel Tray
This is the travel tray that I’ve traveled with A LOT. And it’s currently at home being used with a high chair (snow season so we’re homebodies now).

It comes in two different base colors blue and pink. What made me fall in love with it are it’s ‘walls’. So what happened was that I was so tired of picking up all the toys and colors constantly being thrown or that fell off the edge from the trays. My online search was a literary tray with walls.  The other bonus was Koala Lulu’s Tray can fold flat and popped into your hand carry or anywhere really when not in use. There are velcro straps that help make it fold flat for easy storage.

I went through a lot of different products online especially since I was crunched for time (was supposed to travel ten days after!). The Kids Car Seat Travel Tray was on my top 3 list. It had what I was looking for though it’s slightly pricier than what I would like. Koala Lulu is the seller and they were very courteous. The back wall of the tray includes at an angle so if your little wants to watch a little something on a tablet, this is perfect for viewing.

You would need to take the tablet cover or protector off before putting it in the slot though.

Coming back to the tray, here’s a quick list of Pro’s and Con’s that helped me decide on it.

Pros

  1. Lightweight
  2. Has walls that prevent ‘accidental’ toy drops
  3. Can be strapped to multiple baby gear
  4. Has a cup holder and an Ipad slot
  5. Has extra pockets to keep smaller notepads, colors, crayons, stickers etc in
  6. Folds thing and easy to store.
  7. Bases

Cons

  1. A little on the pricier side
  2. Limited colors (Blue and Pink)

Kids Travel Tray Convertible Bag

The best feature is of course that the Travel Tray converts into a travel bag so pretty darn easy to take with you.
This is another one of my favorite travel trays, especially since this converts into a bag for easy travel. The Convertible Travel Tray is perfect for older kids as well as your little toddler since there’s tons of pockets and storage!

The best feature is of course that the Travel Tray converts into a travel bag so pretty darn easy to take with you. It’s about 14″ wide so there’s enough space to play, build some blocks, colors…you name it and it can be done!. Nifty little slots around the tray let you hold pencils, toys, notebooks, bottles, all sorts of things.

Cleaning is easy since this is waterproof as well. A quick wipe and we’re done! Overall this holds great value.

Play Tray For Kids by Affinity Baby

The Play Tray by Affinity Baby is definitely one of the most budget-friendly kids tray.
Play Tray has all the nice features such as raised walls, slots for colors, notebooks and a good wide space for coloring, playing with toys etc. It’s soft padded base makes it perfect for toddlers to use.
